Eric has been involved in theatre and acting for almost 20 years. He received his BA in theatre performance from Anderson University, and has received his MFA in Interpersonal Communication from Ball State University. His acting resume includes the film credits of RUDY, the 1999 Sundance selection CHILLICOTHE, and MAINTENANCE BY ANY MEANS. He starred in the TV pilot for a comedy called THE FAT END that was filmed in Muncie. His Theatre credits include professional productions of The Zoo Story and a 5 month run in TECHUMSEH!. He has also worked for 15 years with LouAnn Young and the Anderson Young Ballet Troupe, where he is most known for his portrayal as the Grandfather in the annual Nutcracker. This last year saw Eric move from his elderly part in the annual Xmas show to the prestigious role of Drosslemeyer the dark magician in the show, a role that fits him well and that he looks forward to playing again in 2004.
He has performed for a number of area theatres, but has made his home at Anderson's Mainstage theatre ever since 1994 where he has served on the board of directors for 8 years. His Mainstage acting credits include Lost In Yonkers, Bus Stop, Bathroom Humor, Three Guys Naked From The Waist Down, Assassins, Greater Tuna, A Streetcar Named Desire, One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, Annie and The Secret Garden among others. Known for playing a great villan and other quirky character roles, Eric looks forward to the next time he'll grace the boards at Mainstage. As a director, Eric has helmed such productions as Where Have All The Lightning Bugs Gone? (X2), Mirrors, Run For Your Wife (X2), The Prisoner of 2nd Avenue, I Hate Hamlet, Cheaper By The Dozen, and will now be taking the challenging reigns of the dramatic thriller Bad Seed.
Eric is a proud father of two boys and two girls. The boys, following in the artistic footsteps of their father have already amassed 10 years of dance between them. The girl, spend their time looking cute and driving their mother crazy. Eric is also the proud husband of Sheila, who made her Mainstage debut as the title role in the production of Sylvia and later starred in Same Time Next Year.
