MAINSTAGE THEATRE'S first play of the season is directed by KAREN SIPES.  This 1952 drama, an allegory of McCarthyism by Arthur Miller, is an adaptation of the events taking place during the "Salem Witch Trials" in the Province of Massachusetts Bay between 1692 and 1693.   The play is a favorite of actors and directors and is sure to present to Madison County a fine cast ready to send chills down your spine when you attend this production.

Who can resist a story about a serial-killer-plant, with wonderful and catchy tunes to spice it up?  This rock musical, by Disney writers Alan Menken & Howard Ashman, opened off-Broadway in 1982 to much success and has become a world-wide phenomenon because of its singable songs and accessibility to school and community theatres.  It's MAINSTAGE's turn to present this production, directed by BILL MALONE and filled with great tunes like: Suddenly Seymour, Somewhere That's Green and Skid Road

LAURA GORDON makes her MAINSTAGE directing debut in this Neil Simon classic with a twist.  Following the success of the 1965 Broadway smash, THE ODD COUPLE, Neil Simon took the roles of Felix and Oscar (the neat, and the not-so-neat room-mates...following both of their divorces) and reversed the genders, coming up with yet another hit...the "female" version.  This script, by Simon, is virtually the same, but the roles are reversed.  "Felix & Oscar" become "Florence & Olive".  There are some other interesting twists as well...but you'll need to purchase a ticket to find out about them...so come enjoy our second play of the season.
